Anyone know of a good wholesale company that I can get items to sell at a dollar store? i’m looking for original items that will bring traffic to my store like motor oil or different cleaning supplies, bath soap, cosmetics, cologne, anything really that will set me apart from other stores.

Hi, I’m 19 and im a college student who is looking for a great way to make some extra money. I use ebay a lot and I wanted to look into wholesale and drop shipping.
I wanted to know if anyone knows a legitimate source for drop shipping. I’ve looked at a couple of resources on google, but they were not any good (prices were higher than the normal prices)

There are drop shippers and there are wholesalers. They are not the same.

A wholesaler will require you to have a business license and tax ID. They will also require you to buy in bulk.

A drop shipper is just another middle man. They try to make you think their prices are wholesale but they are not. THEY buy wholesale and let you do the selling for them and they make a profit just like you want to. Drop shippers can be great or they can be a nightmare. Many of them tend to run out of stock just as you sell something. You are left trying to explain to the buyer why you can’t ship their item. This often results in negative feedback and poor DSRs.

No one who is currently using a decent drop shipper is going to share their source with you. The last thing a seller wants is even more competition than they already have.

A wholesaler, as stated, will require you to purchase in bulk. That means big money up front. It’s called overhead. The price of doing business.

Hi, I understand that no-body will be willing to give away there wholesale secrets and exactly where they buy from but please can someone point me in the right direction.

I have been looking all over the internet and the companies that claim to be wholesalers are actually selling their products for practically the RRP.
Also I am quite aware that the internet is rife with so called "wholesale companies" that are just trying to rip you off.
Is there some kind of legitimate wholesale directory or please just nudge me in the right direction.

my husband visits the wholesalers, not their websites
my son’s business is computers and repairs, so he uses a mix of web based companies and direct purchases from wholesalers that he physically visits

I’ve found a wholesale site to buy products so I can sell them on eBay, and they dropship for a small price. I’d like to find out a few things though.

Will I actually make a profit? Say I buy an item for £5 and I can sell it for £16.

And on eBay while selling a product how do I make an option so customers can chose a colour or size etc.?

Unfortunately 99% of drop shippers which claim to be wholesalers are not wholesalers at all. The prices they offer are only slightly less than retail, and your chances of making any money on them will be very slim. To be able to make money retailing, you must be able to get products at reasonable wholesale prices, and in order to do that, you will need to go directly to the product’s distributor, or even its manufacturer if possible. Otherwise you will simply be paying far too much. The downside however is that very few distributors actually offer a Drop Shipping service, so your possibilities are somewhat limited.

If you want to purchase in bulk, find the manufacturer. Only mfr will be able to supply you cheapest……
