    Hi
Am looking to start a business, I not sure what kind nut just want to look at different suppliers and there prices.

I would suggest you B2B website to look for suppliers of the products you need to buy. B2B websites list suppliers and manufacturers from different parts of world with contact details and product information. It becomes easier for buyers to locate these suppliers and contact them from B2B websites. Some good B2B websites include http://www.hellotrade.com and http://www.tradekey.com.

Where can i get Wholesale Merchandise for my business?

Im looking for wholesale crochet headbands and hats and flower heads for my hair bow business. where can i find this stuff?

Funny – I was just looking at this kind of thing (but for a different industry).

Identify a trade magazine which caters to people in your business. Wholesalers advertise in there.

NOT a FASHION magazine. A TRADE magazine. Very important distinction. A TRADE magazine caters specifically to people in that line of business.

A quick search on "trade magazine" and "hats" gave a few results. Check it out. It won’t be free – they need to make their money too.

You could also just go to another business of the same type and ask if they wouldn’t mind sharing with you what trade magazines they use. Or even better, if they could give you some old issues that they are throwing away so that you can make some contacts.

Have you actually established yourself as a business with tax ID numbers and such? If not, wholesalers will not deal directly with you, since you need to prove that you are the retailer and not the consumer. The tax structure is different and their business model does not cater to people who just want a whole lot of something.

Are all these wholesale and drop ship lists on ebay legit?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under drop ship wholesale | 2 Comments »

Has anyone ever purchase one? What is your experience?

What are you trying to accomplish? You can work directly with manufacturers, have them drop ship, and avoid the list and potential scams. You will be known as a product broker/agent, between the manufacturer and the end user (customer).

What is the typical markup for wholesalers?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under wholesalers | 1 Comment »

I am looking into starting a wholesaler/distribution company for a Home accesories line of products (placemats, trivets, coasters).
The products are made in China, they will be imported to the USA, I will stock them and distribute them threw independant sales reps to retailers.
What are the typical markups for wholesalers (between the price they bought the product from the manufacturer and the price they sold it to the retailers) so they can make a profit.

Each industry has different "standard" markups. However, you should calculate your costs and then add what you want to make for each item, and come up with what YOU NEED TO CHARGE.

Just because one company has a certain markup does not mean you can make it on that same markup. Lots depends on their distribution channels and how and where they get their goods.

There is a typical markup, your are correct, but there is no guarantee that you can survive using that rate, especially just starting out.

How to learn about buying wholesale and selling for profit?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under wholesale | 3 Comments »

I’m 17 and I’m really interested in the whole idea of buying items in bulk/wholesale and selling them on for profit.

I have no idea where to start, where to buy wholesale goods from, just basically all about selling on wholesale.

Any books/websites where I can learn?

here’s an excellent website to buy wholesale products. http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?SearchText=wholesale&Country=&CatId=0&IndexArea=product_en&ssk=y

    Also try http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=wholesale&_sacat=See-All-Categories
You can narrow the categories on the left side menu.

Some info on buying wholesale and reselling can be found at
    http://ezinearticles.com/?Where-to-Find-Best-Wholesale-Suppliers-For-Profitable-eBay-Resale-Free-Tutorial&id=2711656

The link above is not a referral link from me. It’s the only way to get to the page.

Here’s a great book you can get. http://www.amazon.com/Drop-Shipping-Sellers-Complete-Without/dp/1430311096/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250197395&sr=1-9

Also try your local library for free books on wholesaling. Reselling. Drop shipping. ETC.. Talk to your librarian. They are immensely helpful.

    I hope this helps.
