I’m thinking I don’t have large start-up capital to start a clothing business nor do I have a big space to stock them. You think joining dropshippers the way to go to get to wholesale womens clothing business?
I discourage you to using dropshipping. The profit margin is too think you will make almost nothing. I did this before and did not work out. Their prices are too high for a wholesale. If you want to start a clothing business, there are wholesale womens clothing distributors that do not require any minimum purchase. If you have $100 or less, that’s good enough. If you have more so much the better. Prices of these distributors are considered closeout therefore more than 50% below wholesale price. One of the places you should check is http://www.bigdeal4u.com. Good luck!
Hello professional seniors,
I have a good hardware product that I sell in Ebay, and local hardware stores and makes me good fortune. Now my desire is bigger and thinking how to push my product into Costco wholesale stores. Based on your professional experience, to whom do I present my product to Costco top executives? would it be the Product Development manager, or the Research & Development manager, or the Merchandising manager? or anyone that can test and decide on my products before designing my products to fit for Costco value customers.
Thank you so much in advance for your professional suggestions!
Brian
Costco probably doesn’t have a Product Development or R&D function as they only buy sell products. You would be in contact with their buyers or merchandising people.
Get a business plan and figure out how much your product actually costs and how much profit you make on it. You will have to sell it to costco or other stores at or near cost to allow them to sell it at the retail price. If you sell it in hardware stores how much do they get for selling it?
Say your hardware thing costs you $6 to make (material costs, production labor costs, and overhead- which is lights/rent/and non-production costs) and you sell it ebay retail for $12 then you make $6 or 100% profit.
If it costs $6, and the hardware store allows you to sell it for $12 but then you have to give them $2 for each sold then your profit is $4 or 66% profit.
If you have to sell it to Costco for $8.00 to allow them to sell it retail for $11 then your profit is only $2 or 33%
Make sure that your product has good packaging, advertising materials, etc. and conforms to any safety regulations in regards to its class.
Also make sure you can produce enough of the products to satisfy the demand before you approach them.
If you need to produce the product make sure you have good solid legal paperwork with any third party contact manufactures so that the manufacturer doesn’t rip you off. Same goes with any sell contracts with your customers- Walmart is well known for ripping off its vendors by sourcing the same exact item from some other vendor who makes it cheaper.
It can be done as various people have manufactured and marketed their ideas but there are alot of pitfalls along the way.

I have found a few sites which sell wholesale products from China and was wondering if they are considered safe? Thank you
It is as safe as you allow it to be. If you interested in buying wholesale from China you really need to do you research. One thing I always do to minimise the risk is only deal with sources that offer Paypal, Escrow or Credit Card as payment options. At least with using one of these methods you have an avenue to go down in the event that you do get scammed! Western Union and TT payments are the risky options… steer clear if in doubt! A good website to try is www.hqwholesale.com for a huge range of suppliers and sources
Opening a clothing store for teens, what are my options?
The best option is to buy directly from suppliers or manufacturer. You will find the list of suppliers along with their contact details from a good B2B website. Some examples of B2B websites are http://www.hellotrade.com or http://www.globalsources.com where you can find the suppliers and contact or call them free.
I have a ton of merchandise I would like to sell at wholesale. This merchandise is for resale. Is there any place online that I can do this? I really don’t want to use ebay or liquidation.com. I think ebay is full of fraud lately and it’s hard to get a serious buyer who is legit. Liquidation.com looks good, but they are dealing with way different stuff than I have to sell.
I know amazon.com has a lot of items you can sell through them and I think you can pick the quantity as well. Plus its not bidding so its not like you have to make it extremely cheap. Also great options to choose from like new, good, fair, etc.
Where can I find the best list of dropshipping wholesalers? I would like to start an ebay business and I need cheap stuff that I can dropship.
Last answer is so fake. Anyway wholesale drop shippers can be found here, goodluck

Im thinking of creating a small business in maternity clothing. Not sure if I should look for wholesalers here in Australia or overseas like bangkok or China. Please advise.
Bangkok is much cheaper than China if you decide to go that route, plus they arent on a mission to suppress democracy like China is. Do the right thing.
With regards to consumables or any other product I always heard about Retail and wholesale, what are these things? For example if I buy a blank CD from a particular shop( presuming wholesale) it costs me much lesser than if I buy it from a shop near to my house. Does wholesale mean at lesser rate?
No.. Wholesale is not the thing u r thinking of. U just cannot buy a product from a wholesale shop.
I will try and explain the terms by giving an example.
A factory produces items which it sells to a wholesale shop dealer. These items are of less cost.
The retail shopkeeper ( that’s next door shop) buys some amount of the items from the wholesale shop and then adds the service tax, octroi, etc and yes his profit in its cost and then sales it item to the customers.
I’m running low on money and was wondering if the fish Oil supplements from places like Sam’s Club, Costco, Walmart would work well (or at least decently). Does anybody here purchase their fish oil from any big place instead of a health food store? Does it work? I’m only going to try this temporarily until I get more cash.
I take 1000 mg EPA a day, the DHA amount is not as important. I take for mood and help with concentration/brainpower.
Yes they work almost as good.
I am starting a business where I want to resale ladies suits from wholesale companies like Donna Vinci, Lily & Taylor, fifth Sunday, and DVC. I only found 1 company’s contact info so far… I need help!
