Recently, I have been looking online for wholesale and dropship website in order to buy various products at reduced prices. I have now used 2 wholesalers that I have had a negative experience with leading to the old proverb "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". I have thus decided to post a question and a small forum like discussion that we can have regarding these online retailers.

What I am suggesting is for us to post what experiences we have had with these retailers.

So "The Question": What experiences have you had with which online wholesalers, dropshippers, which of them are fake and which are real.

I have the following comments.
This website is definitely a scam: http://www.topsellerbrand.com/, the company that operates this website and a posting on www.ec21.com, namely Wangyi Trade co. Ltd., is a fake and they are scam artists. I ordered an ipod nano 16gb black from them and I received a Chinese replica of 8gb gold which had completely different menu, extremely poor quality build, the wheel does not work as it does on the original etc. They seem legit enough and they are extremely convincing over email, chat and phone but they are not legit. they do send you your product but under the terms I mentioned.

When you talk to them if you insist that you want proof even slightly, the answer is: "If you dont believe me/us then I don’t know what to say now", and they are not the only ones that use this, I have spoken to a few. companies saying this are fakes I have tried it out.

So I suggest you stay away from these scam artists : Wangyi Trade Co. Ltd, www.topsellerbrand.com.
And www.fengshuntrade.com they will send you believable photos of multiple stock items, however a check in the properties/details whill show that they are photo shopped.

does any one else suggest anyone else who is fake wholesaler/dropshipper, scam artist?

i am a mom of 3 so of course things are tight here. i want to start a side business with ebay but really dont know where to start. i looked up some of the wholesale wharehouses and then looked on ebay and things were selling for less than i would have paid for them. Find a location good for tourism… and something with affordable rental space. It is a great place to start and know that you can continue your sales by advertising to a larger demographic here are just a few idea’s…

Promotional umbrella’s are always in need for places such as Theme Parks and any place that people are going to be staying all day but may not have packed an umbrella.

Also umbrellas that match girls outfits in designer stores would be a great idea- and I have yet to see something like that.. (I have 2 girls and would purchase)

Also out here in California we have a ton of tourists… I would market to the souvenir tourist type shops…

Any "wholesale" company that charges a membership fee is a scam. If they are a drop shipper, they are actually not the source, but are using ANOTHER drop shipper to ship to your clients. That’s a recipe for customer service disaster!

If you have a business license and a tax ID number, you will be able to find thousands of companies to wholesale to you. Without these, you are most likely only going to find fake wholesale scams. Even if the price seems really good to you, its very likely not actually wholesale–and that means you won’t be able to compete with the companies actually buying wholesale.

Drop shippers charge you a premium for shipping the item out for you. It might seem like easy money, but you won’t be able to compete with the companies buying wholesale and shipping themselves. You will end up with bad feedback from slow shipping/damaged items/poor quality items. You will end up spending hundreds of dollars listing items that other people are selling for half the price you can offer. Its not a pretty thing. Anything that can be drop shipped on eBay IS being drop shipped on eBay. This might have worked 5 years ago, but the market is over saturated.

Good places to find wholesalers are the yellow pages and at retail shows. No one will reveal their exact source as it will just generate competition. That is a reality of business.

If you want to make good money, you have to be a professional willing to invest money, time & hard work into your business.

Not at all. All car dealerships purchase vehicles from manufacturers and sell them for a lot more money than they actually cost.

And clothes for example, they cost pennies to make but they sell for a lot more than that.

It is only the American way to buy low and sell high.

CANADIAN–retailer: read again- canadain retailer, firemoutain Gems is out of the Usa, only reason i say this again-. it’s cause i’m from canada-and well i’d like to pay canadian currancey so it wont cost as much, well it’s not much more, but when u buy online u pay shipping fee-then border fee’s then a delivery free’s almost twice the price once all said and done.
