Does anyone know what I would need to sell my own hand made products at wholesale prices to retail stores? Do I need a tax ID #? Does the retailer pay the taxes or do I? What kind of company set up should this be? I am not selling retail at all just wholesale but how can I set up my company to get a tax ID # to buy products at wholesale (to save me on costs) that will be sold at wholesale? I am really confused about the whole set up and tax liability aspect. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank you!!
To get a tax id number you’d have to go to the appropriate government web site. This link should be the right one for that.
http://www.gov-tax.com/?OVRAW=tax%20id%20number&OVKEY=tax%20id%20number&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=7675959521&OVKWID=87854545521
After you get your tax id #, (or before you get it) you could list your stuff on auction site. I wouldn’t suggest ebay because they charge for everything.
Instead try satisfaction.com, ubidright.com or search for free auction sites. Some of them charge a final value fee and some are totally free.
Hope this helps you.

I am looking to open a sports equipment store and I am in the middle of writing the business plan. This may sound like a dumb question but where do retailers like my store buy their product from? There must be a catalog for retailers so they can turn a profit.
Ex) Bats. If I were to sell Easton baseball bats, where/how do I go about buying these at wholesale / manufacturer price?
You can also try http://www.wholesaledeals.co.uk if you are looking for wholesale deals to resell on eBay UK and Amazon UK. Cargo is back for its 3rd installment, marking the independent fashion trade show and shopping events one-year anniversary, July 20 and 21, 2009, at the St. Patricks Center in New York City. Once again, the two-day event will feature lifestyle pop-up shops from some of the industrys hottest brands. Apparel, footwear and accessories brands will sell wholesale to retailers, while the general public is invited to shop discounted and exclusive inventory in an atmosphere filled with music, gifts, drinks and art.
Cargo broke the mold a year ago with an intimate show that created a new model for conducting business in the fashion industry. By the second show in January 2009, Cargo more than quadrupled in size and became the first fashion trade show to open its doors to the public.
With this anniversary show, Cargo brings the fashion industry another one-of-a-kind event, and as always provides additional avenues for established and emerging brands to showcase and sell their products for this season and next and generate buzz for their fresh product.
At Wildchild Nation we’re always looking for economical opportunities to generate sales. Not only were we able to cover our booth fees from cash and carry sales at the event, but we also grew our wholesale business with several boutique orders and made some great networking connections.
- Marc David, Wildchild Nation
Bigger is not always better and the CARGO trade show is a testament to that notion. It was well edited and had a laid back atmosphere. It offered everyone a more intimate experience that is conducive to building relationships.
- Eric Cano, Antenna Magazine

I was contacted by a company that sells art in the hospitality market, hotels, large corporations etc they are interested in my artwork. Does anyone know how this market works and how much artists typically make? Can anyone explain the process so I am prepared or let me know of any resources to find the info?
Artists have a God gifted miracle in their hands and they can make alot of money buying selling it. If you are an artist, I will advise you to put your pieces of master arts on net for sale and make a bid for them..
Astonishingly- simple new live seafood holding systems that require very little technical expertise.
BioNovations (www.bionovations.ca) TS1-500 Live Seafood Holding system is designed for those wholesale operators, retailers, restaurants, hotels, fish markets and fishers whose goal is to hold medium volumes of live seafood.
•The TS1-500 configuration is one (1) tank wide and one (1) tank high. All mechanical filtration, biofiltration, refrigeration, and aeration are built into the system. The insulated Traystor II holding tank and optional insulated cover make the system energy efficient.
•The TS1-500 Live Seafood Holding System is self-regulating for water level. As a result, the Traystor II holding tank and the biological filter cannot be pumped dry.
•The TS1-500 is equipped with a condensing unit sized for each customers requirements. The condensing unit is equipped with a titanium evaporator coil and an electronic temperature controller for accurate water temperature control. Combined heating/cooling systems are available for warm water species. The system is equipped with a pump, manufactured from thermoplastic glass filled resin, sized for the systems flow requirements and compatible with seawater.
•The TS1-500 Live Seafood Holding System can easily hold up to 500 lb/227 kg of live seafood and, like all of our systems, it can be connected to an optional retail display case.
This turnkey system comes ready to run with all components required for operating an efficient Live Seafood Holding System. All it requires is to be hardwired to the customers electrical panel and turned on.
* The TS1-500-E Live Seafood Holding System is the expandable version of the TS1-500. The TS1-500-E can be expanded to a 1000 lb/455 kg system by adding piping, additional trays, an insulated cover and placing another Traystor II holding tank beside the existing Traystor II tank. If you plan to expand the TSI-500, BN will need to increase the pump size and filtration at the outset.
